Just some stuff

When looking for a site to join, BC was at the top of my list! However there were a few things that prevented me from signing up.

• In the site rules, rule number 6 states "staff members reserve the right to add onto, change, or remove rules and regulations at any given time with or without a notice prior or after such changes." Maybe it's the way this rule is worded, but I got a strong Staff vs. Members vibe. It sounds like a staff member, without even having to talk it over with other staff members, could add a rule one day saying that all members with an animal in their avatar will be banned without warning. Suddenly, a long time member is banned because they were never informed about this change. It honestly sounds like staff is holding their power above the members' heads. I'd understand if there was no way to notify members, but I know for a fact you have three ways of doing so - the announcement area (isn't that what this area is for anyway?), private messages (though it may be tedious for the staff), and the cbox (although not very reliable in ensuring all members get the message).
  
• It does seem a little strange that the age limit on characters is 3 years. Many animals that are allowed on this site go off on their own and begin breeding at 1-2 years of age. It's like saying that your child can't leave the house or date until they're 30. It's a bit strange so, for that reason, I suggest bumping the age limit down by at least a year.
  
• Are you guys aware that your map button doesn't lead anywhere?
• On that note, I would suggest moving the Links area up. I suggest either directly above or directly below the Sister locations, since I imagine members and guests alike will be using those links a lot. It defeats the point of making things easy to access if the "helpful" links are halfway down the page. Why not just click the board that said link is in, since you'll be scrolling passed it to get to the "easy access" links anyway?
  
• While the site description is helpful to guests looking for a site to join, it's a bit lengthy. Most of that information is already mentioned in the "Plot" page, so there may not be a reason to carry on for such a long time in the sidebar. I suggest condensing the site description box so it doesn't appear so overwhelming... A few sentences about how 4 species and over 100 breeds fight for dominance - that's your selling point! If that catches a guest's attention, then they'll check out the plot page and they'll discover exactly what's going on. Give them a little taste so that they want to explore further!
• Also, are you aware that you have two feline categories in the Allowed Species thread? That's odd.
• On the note of felines, domesticated canines are allowed, but what of domesticated felines? The list of "allowed species" actually includes species that aren't allowed as well, but domesticated felines aren't even on the list. Does that mean that domesticated felines aren't allowed or does it just mean that staff never got around to adding them to the list? With that said, I do think it would be a little strange if the site allowed one set of domesticated animals, but not the other.
  

This is a beautiful site with a lot of promise and I just hope this stuff gets sorted out! I don't mean to sound rude, but I just wanted to let you guys know, since I doubt I'm the only person who will have some of these opinions.
