Millions of years ago the fight between good and evil decimated earth.
In the dinosaur era, six interplanetary warriors were charged with defending the earth and the Mythical Zeo Crystal, they were able to defeat several villains that would attack the earth. It was a betrayal from within that caused the warriors downfall, when Rita Repulsa the first green ranger would betray her team mates. The following war between the remaining five warriors and Rita and her minions would cause massive damage to the earth, when the dust settled, the black, pink, blue, and yellow rangers were dead. The last warrior named Zordon would send the five power coins to who would be worthy to claim them as they vanished into the sky, He would order a meteor strike that would kill him, the dinosaurs and Rita Repulsa was thrown into the sea where she lay dormant for millions of years, the sixth coin itself vanished and has been lost to time.
Millions of years later, earth has healed and the scars of the war have vanished. One day a body would wash up on a beach, after several hours when the sun rose so did the evil space witch. Upon realizing that she was alive, she would awaken her other minions again, again setting her sights on the Zeo Crystal, hoping to hide the fact that she was back until she was ready. Jason, Zack, Kim, Trini and Billy found the Power Coins and the Command Center. Being trained by Alpha and Zordon to morph and protect the planet. Despite their setbacks and almost losing one of their own for good they were able to eventually morph and defeat Rita and Goldar for good. Rita told them this wasn't over as others would come for the Zeo Crystal. Jason punched Rita kicking her off the planet but the green coin fell from her into the rubble of the town without her or the town being aware of it. The green coin waits for its new owner. With the Earth safe the five teens retired, gave them back to Zordon and returning to their former lives. While the town began rebuilding. But Rita's threat of others coming to Earth was not just words.
New kids recently moved to town. Tommy Oliver, David Oliver, Adam Park, Aisha Campbell, Rocky Desantos, Kat Hillard and Tanya Sloan. But things were about to take a dark turn. Tommy found the Dragonzord coin and joined the team while the six other teenss were captured by Lord Zedd. He'd raided the Temple of Power unable to find its guardian but was able to steal blue prints for the power coins creating six thunder coins of his own. Using his magic he turned the six thunder rangers evil. Now the clash of the two Ranger teams begins as Jason and the others get their powers and get back into action. They must find a way to defeat their friends without killing them or allowing Zedd to steal the Zeo Crystals. And two brothers must face each other for the first time.
