[attr="class","dropfrumbodytxt"]PERSONALITY
Shy - There's no denying that Sakari is a shy little thing. Never one to be the center of attention, Sakari is likely the one who'd shuffle her paws, blush, or look away when being spoken too. However, the female is not by any means anti-social - in fact, she loves company! Even if it's simply sitting by her side, she's more than happy to be around others. More often than not, Sakari will try to converse with others...even if it doesn't go too well.
Socially Awkward - Along with being shyness, Sakari is quite socially awkward. To being somewhat oblivious to 'social cues' to having little social skills when speaking with others, some of her more...weird habits can be explained by this. She often tries to put herself into social situations - such as approaching others. However, it'll often end with her just...staring. Wide-eyed, unable to speak, before blushing, quickly apologizing and probably hobbling off from sight. It doesn't help that the female seems to be a bit...stiff. Laughing at a joke with others? Might end up being one of those obvious 'I'm fake laughing' laughs - loud and awkward. Spouting useless facts in her nervousness to rambling on with nonsense...Sakari is a bumbling - sweet - mess.
Warmhearted - Despite her awkwardness, there's no denying that Sakari is indeed a kind feline - much unlike the stereotype within her clan or the legacy of her father - Sakima, the darkhearted. She's gentle - sweet, the type to worry herself sick over another. The motherly sort who will temporary forget her shyness to make sure, and nag you, to get that injury checked on. Too forgiving, too easily swayed by her emotions and want to give love to others - too fragile. That's definitely Sakari.
Passive - The feline...lacks courage. Courage to really be herself - courage to face others, courage to even say 'no' when it counts. She's far too passive, far too likely to ignore someone walking over her tail if just to keep the peace. She wished she could be more brave, be more like a Skotadi feline but...she can't. She isn't.
Self Conscious - Although considerably better than how she was as a pupil, Sakari lacks confidence in herself and often feels self-conscious in her own appearance {which may be why staring makes her uncomfortable}. While this does make her quite humble to her abilities, it's easy to get the female discouraged.
Sensitive - There's no denying that Sakari has a frail heart - one that she always seems to wear on her 'sleeve'. Even through her shyness, she's always so willing to sow others her soft, emotional self, so easy to trust others...Which often winds up in the feline getting emotionally hurt - it's not uncommon to see her shed a few tears, even if she'll try and deny it. While she wishes she could be 'tougher', it doesn't seem like that's gonna happen
Definitely a feline - A weird trait, but true. Y'know how cats always seem to end up in those 'how' situations - or rather, the saying, 'curiosity killed the cat'? That's...definitely Sakari. As if she isn't normally embarrassed enough, the feline's curiosity often leads her to interesting predicaments, such as the time her head got stuck between the wedge of two entwined trees. Or the time as a pupil she climbed a too large tree and got stuck in it. Or the time she got her paw stuck in a snake hole....Or when a fish clamped onto her tail...Y'know, maybe she just has a bunch of bad luck? Otherwise, and furthermore, Sakari is a naturally playful feline, even if it may not seem like it due to her often mature, stoic display. So some may be surprised when the feline may suddenly bat at a paw at their tail. Of course it ends with her partially screaming apologies and racing away, but, it happens nonetheless.
APPEARANCE Due to her odd coloration, Sakari is likely to catch ones eye, be it in curiosity of her odd hued pelt or in disgust of her difference - it's something that's always been the female's bane. Her fur is soft to the touch - smooth, despite it being somewhat short, better suited to the hot, humid climate of the forest and not built for handling the cold. Her fur itself is dark in hue, being mixture of black with hints of a dark, burnt brown that become lighter or darker in various positions on her body, her flank and her neck being an example. The typical rosette patterns that are a standard of her species fade in an out, being black in color - visible in some areas and hidden in others. The reasoning behind Sakari's atypical fur color is due to her being a 'melanistic' animal, although, her fur is not fully black, making it seem as though it's only effected 'half' of her fur.
Curvy whiskers and perked ears mark her facial features and they're adorned by a pair of vibrant green eyes. She posses a long tail that seems to fade to complete black - a rosette no where in sight. Funnily enough, an odd feature of Sakari is her paw pads. Due to her 'half' melanistic genetics, her paw pads are splattered in mixture between the typical dark brown and black. Sakari's build befits her role - a hunter. Long-legged, she's slightly on the tall side, supporting a somewhat more slender build, appearing to somewhat lack muscle.Regardless, her lighter weight makes her lighter on her paws - perhaps even more graceful and aiding well in her role as a huntress.
HISTORY A great warrior of the past named Sakima was the feline who sired Sakari. He was a proud jaguar - one whose coat was the color of the darkness the Dynasty of Skotadi prowled in. Known for his brilliance in fighting, he was looked up to within the clan as the model example of a Skotadi warrior - strong, silent, and aggressive. So when the larger than normal jaguar brought a tiny scrap of dark fur into camp and claimed it as his daughter, everyone was...shocked least to say, given he never had an interest in taking on a mate.
However, the reality of the situation was that the cub was the product of a 'forbidden' love - a romance between a loner and Sakima. The truth, however, was far from that. 'Romance' didn't describe the...'interaction' between the two jaguars. The only reason Sakima had taken the cub was after hearing that a patrol attacked a lone female jaguar who had refused to leave the edge of the territory. Going to whee the jaguar had usually lingered, he found the pathetic scrap wailing for milk, whilst the slump body of her mother lay, her wounds having been too severe. Sakima had no choice but to bring the cub - his cub back to the clan.
Most were unsure what to make of the cub..however, it was believed that she would become a great warrior like her father, so her cubhood wasn't horrible, despite how sickly she was. It was lonely though. The other cubs seemed too scared to approach her - possibly due to her heritage. Many times, the adults were rough, believing that the 'daughter of Sakima' could handle it. And her father himself? He wanted little to do with the cub.
As she grew older, she was given a mentor who was rather aggressive - violent. Sakari's gentle nature and inability to keep up with the intense training or even make progress within combat training was...disappointing, least to say. The fact that Sakari would never become what her clan wanted her to be - a prized warrior - became apparent in a small border scuffle with the canid dynasty. The female froze in fear, unable to do anything but tremble and hide.
Least to say, she became more of a laughing stock than anything - the great and mighty Sakima had sired a weak, timid cub - how ironic. It...hurt though. It hurt when she tried to get her fathers attention only to see him look so...disappointed. Sakari's training was redone - holding her back as a pupil for longer as a different mentor was chosen - a kind, older cheetah known as Namid. Namid became a sort of 'mother' to Sakari - a parental figure she lacked. The one who stood up for her when the other pupil's picked at her or when adults whispered if she would take more after her mother - a lowly rogue. The one who once snuck her out of camp for late night practicing so she could 'wow' the others next training session. The one who gave her confidence in herself - made her feel as though she wasn't just a 'failure'.
Eventually, she would become a hunter. And it wasn't her father who she turned to see approval - but Namid, who stood tall, proud. And Sakari, for once, felt proud of herself. Two weeks later, the jaguar would be leading her first hunting patrol...one that Namid would never be able to take part in - or even celebrate her success. The cheetah had been nest-ridden for days, and finally, her elderly body had succumbed to illness. Sakari was...shaken, refusing to leave the female's side. Surprisingly enough, it was the female's father who managed to tear her away from the slump body of her mentor. A gentle lick to the forehead and gentle nudging.
The two didn't grow any closer - but...he was there. Making sure she ate and got through her depression - giving her grateful nods when she successfully brought home meals. A few months later, the jaguar would peacefully pass away from old age, the words he uttered were the first words full of sheer pride for his kin he had showed her. "I'm proud of what you've become." Since then, Sakari strives forward, both for the betterment of her clan & to make both of the felines who believed in her.
