TRISSKET
[attr="class","dropfrumbodytxt"]PERSONALITY
Ambitious: No one but the Gods can get in Trissket's way these days. As the Queen of her dynasty, she is the most powerful cat in the lands but not even the title of Queen can satisfy Trissket's thirst for power. Persistence is one of Trissket's main characteristics, to the point where she has a habit of developing unhealthy obsessions. She aims for greatness and will never accept anything less. Trissket is a very focused cat and with her brilliance and logic-driven mind, she tends to get what she wants more often than not.
Hardened: With battles, disasters, and deaths on her back, Trisskethas become jaded regarding such things. It no longer sways her heart to watch someone die right in front of her, nor cause her stress when in dangerous situations. She will worry or be sad when something bad happens but Trissket retains a calm mind throughout the darkest of situations. It frightens her how indifferent she has become.
Territorial: Trissket has always been very possessive of her own space. As a cub in the nursery, she competed with the other subs for a space to sleep. She always feels that she has to fight to keep what is hers. Now that she is Queen, Trissket feel responsible for the whole kingdom. She is very strict on keeping her borders protected and intruders out.
Logical: She isn't one to rush into things and prides herself on her analytical analysis. Trissket puts faith in forethought and planning. She tends to be the voice of reason in moments of conflict. Trissket tends to be a fair ruler and put a lot of emphasis on intelligence and very intolerant of traitors or those who depend on their emotions rather than their logic.
Detached: While she loves her Dynasty with all her heart and dedicated her entire life to them, she isn't particularly close to anyone. Trissket tends to admire from afar, keeping her distance from others to avoid personal questions or deep conversations. Trissket tends to fall into friendships and romantic relationships very easily and has learned how to guard her heart from others. She tends to send a tough and stoic image to those around her.
APPEARANCE
Tissket is the average example of her breed. She has a compact build and is very muscular from all her time training. She has a relatively short tail and legs for a creature her size but they are thick and powerful. Trissket has the perfect build for swimming and climbing, two of her favourite things to do in her spare time. She isn't a huge fan of climbing but loves spending time in the tops of the trees. It isn't unusal to find Trissket lounging on a branch in the tallest tree in the territory.
Trissket is dull yellow in colour with dark brown rosettes all over her pelt. Her ventral is a pure white colour. Trissket looks very typical for a jaguar except for her amber eyes, which are usually light coloured in jaguar. Trissket also sports a very distinctive scar. On her fore right limb she has a Lichtenberg figure scar reaching from the top of her shoulder to her wrist.
HISTORY Trissket did not have the best start to life. She was born into the Skotadi Dynasty, surrounded by her felidae kin from birth. Her birth mother was of the Warrior rank and wasn't too willing to spend her days holed up in the Dynasty camp. Instead, she chose to shove her cubs off to the nannies loving care This was how Trissket grew up. The Skotadi kind made very clear lines between bloodlines in the Dynasty. Some cats would separate their cubs from others, claiming they were of higher birth and should not be near those wretched peasants. This was how Trissket came to befriend a female cougar cub named Hexa. Trissket and Hexa put their differences aside and grew up convinced they were blood kin.
It wouldn't be until months later that the two cubs would learn Hexa was the daughter of an Omega. Most automatically assumed Hexa would end up like her parents; a lowly Omega that would bring nothing to the Dynasty. The nannies would commonly push Hexa away and feed her last when there was little food left. Trissket was righteously upset by the way the adults would treat her friend. She quickly gained the reputation of being a scrappy thing that would raise a fuss to defend her friend.
Being so entwined with Hexa, Trissket quickly became unpopular in the Dynasty as well. But the two sister stuck it out together. Trissket flexed her newly developed hunting skills to provide for her sister and fought tooth and nail for her place in the Dynasty. While Trissket seemed to have an easy time thriving in her position in the Dynasty, Hexa struggled with the simplest of tasks. But Trissket never let her sister fall behind her. The other pupils around the sisters age quickly took to treating Hexa like an Omega and made her life hell. Trissket was the only thing standing between them and Hexa.
One day, Trissket went out hunting on her lonesome and left Hexa back at the camp to rest. She returned to find Hexa bleeding out from a beating at the paws of the other pupils. Trissket rushed her sister to the Shaman and begged them to save her life. They did not hesitate to help Hexa. Trissket spent the rest of the night pacing the camp and waiting for the Shaman to finish healing her sister. It was only when the Shaman assured her that Hexa would live that thoughts of revenge entered Trissket's head.
It didn't take much effort for Trissket to hunt down the offenders and teach them a lesson. She hunted them down in the depths of the marshes in Skotadi territory and set an ambush for them. They were three young cocky cats who would loudly bragging about beating up the helpless Omega cougar. Trissket's blood boiled at their words. She rushed into the fight recklessly but her rage outmatched their training. It was only when she tackled one of the males into the water and forcefully drowned him that the other turned tail and ran. Trissket struggled her way out of the water and laid panting at the side of the water.
The next time she opened her eyes, it was to the sight of a tiger leaning over her with a smirk on his face. She instantly recognized him as Saigon, the uncontested heir for the title of King in the dynasty. He took Trissket to a leopard he introduced as Rhaegan. He told Rhaegan what he had witnessed. Trissket was sure she was going to be demoted to Omega, or worse, exiled. But Rhaegan just laughed loudly and offered her a position as his apprentice.
Rhaegan was a Duke and trusted Saigon explicitly when he spoke for Trissket. If Saigon thought Trissket had potential, then he believed him. Rhaegan was a merciless mentor and threw Trissket into her training without pause. He pushed her until she was left shaking like a leaf with exhaustion. The pair spent every waking moment training together. Even when Rhaegan left to do his duties to the king, he left Trissket with a long list of training tasks that had to be completed by the time he returned. Trissket never failed.
As her training continued, Trissket heard the rumors of Hexa's recovery. Her heart jumped into her throat as she raced towards her friend, excited to see her once more. She skidded to halt when she got her first look at Hexa. The cougar was completely disfigured. She bore scars and missing fur from the attack that nearly stole her life. Trissket felt like she was going to be sick. This was her fault. If she had just kept a lower profile or had returned sooner this could have been prevented. Trissket backed away into the shadows. She no longer deserved to be in Hexa's life.
Trissket returned to Rhaegan clearly disheartened. He was quick to comfort his student and coax an explanation of her troubled out of her. Rhaegan offered to get Hexa a protected place among the Shamans if Trissket did something for him in return. Trissket said she would do anything. Rhaegan said he wanted Trissket to become his adopted daughter. He explained his mate, the Duchess, could not have cubs and this would leave them without an heir. He thought Trissket would make the perfect heir. She didn't hesitate to accept.
As the heir to the Duke and Duchess, Trissket was rocketed to a position of power among the Dynasty. Thankfully she had Saigon to back her up. The prince was easy enamored with Trissket from the day he met her. The two quickly became close as Saigon showed Trissket the ropes of the upper class. He taught her how to hold her own in court, how to walk tall among the other Dynasty members, how to choose her words carefully when speaking, and even let her in on a few royal family secrets. The trust Saigon put in Trissket was unnerving at first, but she quickly came to trust him as much as he trusted her.
Despite her new status as daughter of the Duke, Trissket still had to show her worth. One day she got her chance. A clash between the Fengari and the Skotadi escalated into a bloody battle. Trissket single handedly defended Saigon from death and in doing so, killed a Fengari named Elpidius. In their language his name meant "hope". After seeing the death of their beloved Hope, the Fengari retreated with the tail between their legs and cursed Trissket's name. Hope killer, they called her.
Saigon returned to the Dynasty singing praises about Trissket. She became immensely popular overnight. Not just with the Dynasty but with Saigon as well. The pair spent the night together and in the morning Saigon admitted his feelings for her. Trissket was flattered and accepted his offer to be his mate. Rhaegon was pleased with the development and officially deemed Trissket finished with her training.
Trissket's place in the Dynasty was murky. She was the adopted daughter of the Duke and an accomplished fighter. She was too high in the Dynasty to be a simple warrior but her place in the clan was clearly among the fighters. Ultimately, Trissket split her time between her duties. She spent her nights with the royal family and her early mornings with the garrison of warriors.
With her life relatively solid, Trissket turned her attention to other issues. The thirst for Godly power. It seemed to constantly be on the mind of others, especially Saigon. He would spend hours speaking against the Gods. He claimed that their power was not only limited, but attainable. That mortals could become Gods. Saigon would tell Trissket stories of his ancestors and how they were believed to be descendants of the Gods. He would speak with a fire in his eyes. Defying the Gods in his words and actions.
In turn, Trissket would tell Saigon about her own feelings towards the Gods. She would say how tired she was with the way things had been. That the Gods had foresaken their kind and the only way to survive would be to become Gods themselves. What good were Gods that did not care for them? They just needed to take things into their own paws and become the Gods that the Skotadi deserved.
Not many Skotadi believed in the power of the Gods. Their kind thrived in constantly searching for power, hunting down power like it was a particularly elusive prey. Those who devoted themselves to the Gods were fanatics, those who were desperate for a miracle to help them. Trissket met these people on several different occasions. One such cat was a lioness who was convinced her cubs were cursed by the Gods. She drowned them in the river. Trissket witnessed the clear calm in her eyes as she explained herself to the rest of the Dynasty. Her hate for the Gods was never stronger than in that moment.
Trissket was out with Saigon patrolling the territory when the Gods struck back. A sudden storm came out of nowhere and set fire to the jungle with a single strike of lightning. Saigon and Trissket panicked and tried to escape but were quickly surrounded by flames. Saigon sacrificed himself to save her from a falling tree. It gave him a quick death. Trissket remembered looking up at the stormy sky and she swore she could see the shape of the smug Gods laughing down at her. Trissket continued to fight her way out of the fire. Eventually she climbed her way up a tall tree for safety. She looked out over her kingdom on fire and felt like it was a look into her future. A loud boom of thunder brought her out of her thoughts as she looked up at the sky once more. Just in time to see lightning race towards her.
Days later Trissket woke up in the Shaman's care back in camp. She was disorientated and confused. Even more when it was Hexa who welcomed her back to the land of the living. She explained that Rhaegan found her at the base of a tall tree when the rain had finally put out all the fire. They also found Saigon's body under a tree. That set Trissket into tears as she explained what had happened. Hexa in turn explained that she had been directly struck by lightning but somehow survived with nothing but some scars. Sure enough, Trissket had a Lichenberg figure scar going from her shoulder to her paw on her right fore leg. Hexa said she would probably have a limp for the rest of her life. The price of turning your back on the Gods is brutal, Hexa told her with a sympathetic smile as she gestured to her own scars.
Trissket's time spent in Shaman's care was mostly comprised of catching up with Hexa. She finally confessed what had happened all those years ago and the two friends reconciled. The King and Queen personally visited Trissket to thank her for all that she had done for her kingdom and trying to save Saigon. But with the kingdom without an heir was dangerous and the other Dynasty knew this.
The very next day the King and Queen were targets of an assassination attempt. They died of their wounds, leaving Rhaegan and his mate as the new King and Queen. Rhaegan gracefully took the throne and became a wise ruler. Some saw his rise to power as a blessing. He was a much greater ruler than the last king. But this left Trissket in a difficult position. Now she was the only living heir to the throne. The last chance for the kingdom.
With a rekindled relationship with Hexa, Trissket spent most of her time serving her adopted father as best she could. She made a name for herself as a fierce fighter and an advocate for defying the Gods. Time passed quickly and Rhaegan lost his life to a terrible disease. His mate stepped down as Queen in order for Trissket to ascend the throne.
Now Trissket rules the Skotadi Dynasty with her raw power and strength.
TLDR: Triss was raised by nameless nannies. Became good friends with a cougar named Hexa. Was adopted the Duke as his daughter while Hexa became a Shaman after an attempt on her life. Proved her worth by killing a canine. Got caught in a forest fire with the prince. The prince died saving her life. The royal family is assassinated leaving the Duke in charge and Triss as the heir to the throne. Triss ascends the throne.
