Site Rules

01. Respect is a key factor on this site and we ask that you be respectful to our members and Staff Team alike. If you cannot be respectful to us, you will be forced to leave Beautiful Creatures. We’re aiming to be a friendly and welcoming community to everyone who joins this community. If someone is behaving inappropriately (i.e. harassing you or others or being repeatedly rude to you or others, et cetera), please bring this to a staff members immediate attention via PM with proof! Do not try to handle the situation by yourself.

02. All rules mentioned in ProBoards TOS must be followed. Meaning anyone found under the age of 13 will be banned without warning.

03. “Sentence enhancers” (cursing) are allowed here at BC. However, don’t be extreme about it. Keep some tact and dignity as it can be offensive for some members. Every other sentence should be fine. No directing profanity at another member! Breaking this rule may result in account suspension depending on the severity.

04. Please don’t spam our forums or the c-box! What is spam, you may ask? Spam is unsolicited links, advertisements, and sending out the same message repeatedly. This is considered rude and disrespectful to us and disregards the point of us having an “Advertising Section”. If you want your site to get out there, then please do it the correct and more respectful approach by posting in our advertising section. This can be found HERE. Thank you for your cooperation!

05. Here at Beautiful Creatures, we are a one account per person. We find it easier on keeping track of who is who on one account rather than on multiple accounts.

06. Staff members reserve the right to add onto, change, or remove rules and regulations at any given time with or without a notice prior or after such changes. It is ultimately your responsibility to remain up to date to any of these changes.

07. We encourage everyone to interact with everyone! Try to include new members in discussions in the c-box, threads, or even in plots! We’re all here because we share an interest in multi-species roleplays so why don’t we try to be welcoming to everyone? We don’t ask that you like everyone you interact with, we only ask that you try to include them and have a respectful approach. That being said we also ask that you take initiative to involve yourself in activities or discussions. Who knows you might just make a new roleplay buddy!

08. Keep it pg-13 and family friendly. Explicit messages/photos are not allowed here at Beautiful Creatures. If you wish to do this please do it somewhere else where it cannot be read anywhere on BC.

09. We highly suggest that members tag or PM a staff member if you want our immediate attention. This way we know when you want our attention. You can do this by doing @username of the person you want to tag and get the attention of.

010. There is a 50-word posting minimum requirement. That being said Beautiful Creatures values quality over quantity. However, make sure that your posts/replies have substance in them. What do we mean by this? No one enjoys putting effort and time into their post only to have someone reply back with a simplistic or short post with nothing in it. No one appreciates this and it effectively cuts their muse for that specific thread and or character. Just be aware of the quality of your posts!

011. No talk about religion or politics what-so-ever! Though this can be handled civilly and respectfully Beautiful Creatures isn't the place for such talk nor do we wish to offend anyone.

CHARACTER RULES

01. Keep your characters realistic. Though Beautiful Creatures is semi-realistic we like to keep our characters appearances as close to normal animals as possible. That means realistic eyes, pelts, sizes, et cetera. We encourage using actual pictures of an animal species for your characters, however, we’re open to allowing hand drawn pictures. Please contact a staff member before you use a hand drawn picture.

02. Gary Stu's and Mary Sues are not permitted here at BC. What is a Mary Sue? A Mary Sue is an idolized or otherwise seemingly perfect fictional character that saves the day through unrealistic abilities. These characters are insufferably perfect and incapable of making mistakes. A Gary Stu is a male version of a Mary Sue. Balance your character out! Make them have weaknesses and strengths as we all have weaknesses and strengths, we’re not all perfect. Have your characters have imperfections!

03. Keep to your character's personality to the best of your ability.

04. Your characters are allowed to have defects without a prior purchase! (i.e. being partially or completely blind, being partially or completely deaf, not being able to smell, lame, et cetera). Keep in mind that animals with disabilities will be affected differently in clan life as they have to deal with different everyday struggles. We encourage individuality and diversity, though do be aware of the consequences it will have an effect in roleplay!

05. Due to some rarity in the wild, some species need to be purchased and some we just don’t allow here at Beautiful Creatures. Make sure you know which species we do and don’t allow and which ones need to be purchased. Allowed species can be found HERE.

06. You are allowed to have up to 1 High ranked character at a single time. This is subject to change. You must kill off high ranked characters if you want another or different high ranked character if you have reached your max. We encourage that everyone gets’s a chance to rule a clan of their own. There are rules, however, to having HP. If you roleplay a Duke/Duchess or King/Queen then you are required to post at least once every week.

07. You can have an unlimited amount of character’s here at Beautiful Creatures. Just make sure you can handle the amount you set yourself with! If we find you can’t handle the amount you have given yourself we’ll put a cap on it and ask you to kill some off or prove that you're active with the character’s you’ve given yourself.

08. For realistic purposes, pregnant character’s cannot be created.

09. For realism's sake characters cannot be any younger than 3 years of age. We don't want to have orphans kids running around without supervision.

010. When creating your biography please use the application template provided. It has been created specifically for you to use for your character. Do not remove or change any of the labels already on there unless it's ‘optional’.

011. No suicidal or self-harming characters. An animal's instinct is to survive and it goes against their nature to inflict harm upon himself when their only goal in life is to live. Not only that but this can be a very sensitive subject for some members and we wish to be open minded and respectful of what some people are going through.

012. Before creating your character be sure you take a look at our Ban and Encourages List! This helps prevent too much of one species or prevents overpopulation in a clan and allows the others to catch up. By creating a character that’s species is highly encouraged or having your character join a clan that’s encouraged you’ll be rewarded!

013. We only accept male and female characters, sorry for any inconveniences this may cause you. This is only to prevent confusion.

014. We accept characters of all sexualities!

ROLEPLAYING RULES

01. Tagging is a very important action here at BC. When you are rping with someone and you want their attention be sure to tag them in the thread! You can do this by typing in @username of the person you are wishing to tag.

02. Powerplaying, god-modding, metagaming, et cetera are not permitted here at Beautiful Creatures! Breakage of this rule may result in account suspension depending on the severity. If you’re not aware what powerplaying, god-modding, and metagaming are then please refer to this Bad Roleplaying Guide.

03. Though we’re not literate we ask that you have a basic grasp of proper grammar. While Beautiful Creatures is a place for all skill levels from beginner to intermediate to advance it’s essential that people are able to understand and comprehend what you are saying. Typo’s and small errors as such are completely understandable. Please don’t be afraid to reach out if you feel like your writing is lacking that extra oomph! Members and staff alike are often times a great source of advice.

04. Graphic sex is not permitted here at Beautiful Creatures! Please use the traditional “fade to black” to signify you and your partner have done the deed.

05. We use liquid roleplay here at Beautiful Creatures! However, don’t try to go too far ahead or behind what other’s are going by.

ACTIVITY

01. Please notify a member of the staff team or post a message here if you are going to be gone longer than 3 days. This helps us out in not marking your account inactive. You’re never required to explain as to why you’ll be leaving and no one will ever pressure you to do so, however, you are always welcomed to do so if you feel comfortable enough.

1. full hiatus - When you’re fully away from the site and won’t be able to get on within the three-day minimum to post around or show your beautiful face. You don’t need to discuss why you’re leaving, however knowing the time frame of when you’ll leave and come back is beneficial to you and the Staff Team. You’ll be excused from any activity check depending on the length of absence.
2. semi-hiatus - When you’re still around the site but are slow when it comes to posting. You’ll be expected to reply to the end of the month activity check.

02. Understand that real life is very important and that life should always come first before the internet. With that said here at Beautiful Creatures, we ask that you take care of yourself first. Though like we mentioned above, please notify a staff member if you are leaving for more than 3 days!

03. Activity Checks are hosted at the end of each month! All members who haven’t posted a full hiatus message are expected to post in said activity check for that given month.
